Outdoor Multi-Activity Programme

These programmes are designed to introduce students to a varied mix of land and water based adventure activity. With the wide range available, the programme can be tailored to the needs and expectations of student and teacher. This programme is for primary, secondary and third level students.

Campcraft Programme (Junior Cert PE)

A mixture of indoor and outdoor activity focusing:

  • construction of a shelter
  • erecting/striking a tent
  • country code
  • safe practice
  • clothing and equipment
  • ropework

Team Challenge Programme (Junior Cert PE)

Indoor and outdoor activity with an emphasis on:

  • participation
  • planning
  • safety issues
  • effective communication
  • review

Orienteering Programme (Junior Cert PE)

Learn all the basics of orienteering including:

  • recognition of symbols
  • orientation of the map
  • feature recognition
  • basic route planning
  • map memory
  • event organisation

Geographical Investigation Programme (Leaving Cert)

Get hands on assistance in all of the following:

  • Geomorphic processes of transportation/deposition in a fluvial or coastal or glaciated environment
  • Geomorphic surface process in a karst environment
  • A study of a loacl environmental issue
  • A study of changing land use in a rural or urban setting
  • Development of a local transport infrastructure
  • A study of population trends in a local area

Personal Development Programme

A mixture of indoor and outdoor activity focusing on daily themes e.g. creativity, communication, decision making, problem solving and action planning. This course is not weather dependent and this can be enjoyed at any time of year.

Adventure Activity Day Courses

These are one-day introductions to a variety of adventure sports. An ideal alternative for school tours in primary and secondary schools or as a taster for extended residential courses.

Cultural Activity Day Courses

These are primarily designed for foreign students who wish to learn English, explore Irish culture and participate in healthy outdoor activities. These are usually carried out in the holiday periods. Language tutors are available throughout the course programme.

Link Activity Programme

Through the medium of the Outdoors and Indoors, the lifeskills required for transition from the school to work place are developed.

Field Activity Programme

Multihabitat courses are designed to enhance compliment field study programmes in Geography, History and Science.
